Max Loop Station (MaxLS) is a software simulation of a simple loop station built by MAX/MSP. Although it works quite well, it still has many bugs, therefore it’s not to be considered a production level project (*).
At this time, there is no warranty of any kind and we don’t even know if we will continue development. (**)

Requirements:
  • PC o Mac (Pentium 2 generation or higher)
  • MAX/MSP Full version or Runtime version (***)
  • Low latency audio interface
  • Midi foot controller (preferably behringer FCB1010) (****)

Main Features:
  • 5 independent loops individually comandable (rec, playback, volume, pan-pot)
  • Time sync on metronome (tap tempo or manual)
  • Handles different length loops (the length will be adjusted as a multiple of the shortest loop)
  • File dump of recorded loops: can “export” five .wav file for using on a DAW
  • Almost all functions controllable by midi foot controller

REMARKS:

(*) MaxLS has been developed as project-work by Fabio Carusi and David Germanò for the class of “Laboratorio di Sintesi ed elaborazione del suono” (prof. Massimo Carota) - Master Universitario in ingegneria del Suono - Università di Roma “Tor Vergata”
(**) If you are interested in MaxLS development, please consider donating 1 € (see below)
(***) MAX/MSP Runtime (Mac OS / Windows) is available free of charge on
Cycling74 website
(****) Every midi controller can be used with MaxLS by modifying message sent and/or one sub-patch of MaxLS. Obviously the number of functions of MaxLS that can be used is limited by the number of switches / pedals of the controller. Current version of MaxLS uses all the switches/pedals of FCB1010.

MaxLS is released completely free of charge and without any licence because of the current stage’s limitations. If you find it useful and you think that it is worth developing it, you should consider donating the symbolic amount of 1 euro. You can also suggest new features and or submit a bug-solution request. Depending on how many people will be interested, we will decide whether to continue development or not.
